Local Feature: Corbeau

The white modern exterior of this boutique has probably caught your eye as you are driving through Five Points. It’s fresh, modern, yet calming exterior stands out among the neighboring buildings. The same words can be used to describe the boutique’s owner, Ryleigh Fleming. The young store owner purchased the boutique 5 years ago, and just recently changed the store name to make it more her own.

“I wanted the store name to mean something, so I named it after my great grandfather, William Crow. He had such an amazing influence on my life and I wanted to dedicate my business to him,” Fleming said about changing the store name from Wildflower in January, 2021.

Corbeau, the French word for crow, is part of her inspiration for the style of the boutique. She describes it as minimalistic and chic, with new trends that she thinks are timeless.

“People ask why I went with the French dialect, but I am heavily inspired by French styles and I think my store reflects that,” Fleming said, about her approach to make the store fit her own aesthetic.

Corbeau’s inside is just as appealing as the outside, filled with bold pieces organized on each wall that are easily paired together. The store has a mixture of neutral basics that are balanced by vibrant colors and unique patterns for customers who are more adventurous with their style.

“I want Corbeau to be a place that inspires girls to try new trends and styles,” Fleming said. As an inspiring young business owner herself, she wants Corbeau to expand to several new locations and eventually have styles for men as well.

Blossom recently paired with Corbeau to capture some of the outfits inside the store for our late summer photoshoot. Here is an inside look.
